Tournament Information

Wild Bill’s charity poker tournaments are structured to run up to four hours in length.  However, due to the fact that our tournaments are no limit and we play until the last player has all the chips, times may run over 4 hours.

A typical tournament may have a buy-in, re-buy, and add-on.  Individual charities have the option of offering some or all of these.  Rounds run 15 to 20 minutes and blinds are determined by initial chip stake.  Blinds may be adjusted at any time at the discretion of the tournament director.

When a discrepancy of players reaches two between tables, players will be moved to even them out.

Oregon revised statutes allows prizes only to be given away at these events.  A list of prizes available at each tournament will be listed on individual tournament pages on this site.

TOURNAMENT FORMATS

Format A

This format utilizes the normal table consolidation seen in most poker tournaments.  Anytime there is a discrepency of two or more players between tables, a player is moved from the table with the most players to the table with the least.  As players are moved and tables consolidated, empty tables are broken down and removed from the premises.  Ultimately, there is only one table left and is refered to as the Final Table.  Players are eliminated from the final table until there is one player left, which is the winner of the tournament.

Format B

This format may be utilized when there are 120 or more players in a tournament.  The tables will be divided into five mini tournaments.  Each group of tournaments play for three hours, consolidating tables as players are eliminated.  At three hours, there will be a chip count and the two players with the most chips from each mini tournament will move on to the final table.  The final table consists of 10 players, 2 each from the five mini tournaments.  The 10 finalists will draw for seat assignments and use the chips they bring from their mini tournament.  The 10 finalists play down to one winner.

Example:
120 players. 5 groups of 3 tables with 8 players per table.
135 players. 5 groups of 3 tables with 9 players per table.
150 players 5 groups of 3 tables with 10 players per table.
160 players. 5 groups of 4 tables with 8 players per table.
180 players. 5 groups of 4 tables with 9 players per table.
200 players. 5 groups of 4 tables with 10 players per table
250 players. 5 groups of 5 tables with 10 players per table
300 players. 5 groups of 6 tables with 10 players per table
